Keeping with tradition, Coronado Brewing is celebrating 22 years of award-winning beers by brewing a celebratory double IPA. A big occasion calls for a big beer, so every summer, the company releases a hopped-up imperial IPA to celebrate its anniversary. Coronado’s 22nd Anniversary Imperial IPA is brewed with a blend of El Dorado, Citra, and Mosaic hops for vibrant notes of passionfruit, grapefruit, and stone fruit. The medium-bodied ale is highly aromatic, lightly bitter and clocks in at 8.5% ABV. “It’s no secret that San Diego is crazy for IPAs,” says Mark Theisen, Head Brewer, Coronado Brewing Company. “Our goal for this beer was to brew an aroma-driven IPA that can stand proudly with all the other great IPAs in this city. We’re stoked with the way this beer turned out and are excited for people to get their hands on it.”
