At a Los Angeles beach, a team of lifeguards led by Lieutenant Mitch Buchannon save lives, deal with personal dramas, fight crime and participate in over the top adventures on a daily basis. Baywatch premiered in April 1989 and enjoyed a successful run throughout the '90s before coming to an end in 2001. The show took the role of the lifeguard and completely transformed it, adding adventure, excitement and sex appeal to an occupation that seemed an unlikely basis for a TV show. David Hasselhoff filled the lead role of Lt. Mitch Bucannon and while a bevy of curvaceous beauties stood by his side.
