Summary

OHM: exemplify the amazing musical possibilities the three piece format can have, proving that all it takes is a guitar, a bass, and some drums to make some truly awesome music. With `Live` On KPFK 90.7 FM, the trio spearheaded by guitarist Chris Poland take over the conference room of a community supported radio station on Los Angeles to play an `on the air` set of blazing and captivating instrumental fusion. It was clear from the opening chords coming from Poland`s guitar, Kofi Baker`s over-the-top drumming and Robertino Pagliari`s six-string bass work that a strong vide was in the room - and the band burned through what would be close to their set on the road. Also included is a bonus track - a live jam ("Jam At Tony`s") from another radio broadcast a couple of weeks later on Tony Palcovic`s show on KSPC radio 88.7 FM. Maybe a witness to the proceedings, Petar Sardelich, puts it best in the liner notes, "I often shook my head and laughed out loud at how impossibly good the playing was. Improvisation and songwriting isn`t just impulse - it`s spontaneity - an awareness of what is going on in the moment and an intuitive response with it. Music can still matter, and OHM: acts accordingly.
