The Handmaid's Tale is the story of life in the dystopia of Gilead, a totalitarian society in what was the United States. Gilead is ruled by a fundamentalist regime that treats women as property of the state, and is faced with environmental disasters and a plummeting birth rate. As one of the few remaining fertile women, Offred is a Handmaid in the Commander's household, one of the caste of women forced into sexual servitude as a last desperate attempt to repopulate a devastated world.

Shogun is an American historical drama miniseries based on James Clavell's 1975 novel of the same name. The miniseries is loosely based on the adventures of English navigator William Adams, who journeyed to Japan in 1600 and rose to high rank in the service of the shogun (warlord). It follows fictional John Blackthorne's (Richard Chamberlain) experiences and political intrigues in feudal Japan in the early 17th century.

The Orville is an American science fiction comedy-drama set 400 years in the future. The space adventure series follows the U.S.S. Orville, a mid-level exploratory spaceship. Its crew, both human and alien, face the wonders and dangers of outer space, while also dealing with the problems of everyday life. The episodes generally involve planet exploration and visits to various parts of the galaxy. The ensemble series stars Seth MacFarlane as the ship's Captain, Ed Mercer, and Adrianne Palicki as his ex-wife, who's assigned as his first officer.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is an American superhero-like series following the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division). S.H.I.E.L.D. employs an elite team of agents who investigate strange occurrences around the globe and beyond. Its members - each of whom brings a specialty to the group - work to protect those who cannot protect themselves from extraordinary and inconceivable threats, including a formidable group known as Hydra.

Black-ish follows an upper class well-off black family headed by Andre "Dre" Johnson, a successful advertising executive (Anthony Anderson), and his wife Rainbow, an anaesthesiologist (Tracee Ellis Ross). The show revolves around the wealthy Johnson family as they juggle personal, familial and sociopolitical issues, particularly in trying to reconcile their desire to stay true to their black identities with their choice to live in a wealthy, suburban white neighborhood.

In the American superhero crime drama Gotham, James Gordon is a rising detective in the dangerously corrupt Gotham City, where his late father was the district attorney. Brave, scrupulous and determined to prove himself, Gordon must navigate the in-bred dirty politics of Gotham's justice system as well as the rise of malevolent villains, including Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler and The Joker. The series also chronicles the life of a young Bruce Wayne, who becomes an orphan when his billionaire parents Thomas and Martha Wayne are murdered.
