Roxanne

Comic genius Steve Martin delivers an incredible performance as an engaging small-town fire chief who has only one tiny flaw - no, make that one HUGE flaw - his astonishingly long nose. Although he considers it no laughing matter, the hilarity never stops as C.D. Bales (Martin) contends with jerky nose jokes, a bumbling crew of firemen and his secret love for gorgeous astronomy student Roxanne (Hannah). Unfortunately, she is attracted to fireman Chris (Rossovich), who's tall on looks and short on conversation. And when C.D.

Raising Arizona

Blood Simple made it clear that the cinematically precocious Coen brothers (writer-director Joel and writer-producer Ethan) were gifted filmmakers to watch out for. But it was the outrageously farcical Raising Arizona that announced the Coens' darkly comedic audacity to the world. It wasn't widely seen when released in 1987, but its modest audience was vocally supportive, and this hyperactive comedy has since developed a large and loyal following. It's the story of "Ed" (for Edwina, played by Holly Hunter), a policewoman who falls in love with "Hi" (for H.I.

The Producers

Mel Brooks's directorial debut remains both a career high point and a classic show business farce. Hinging on a crafty plot premise, which in turn unleashes a joyously insane onstage spoof, The Producers is powered by a clutch of over-the-top performances, capped by the odd couple pairing of the late Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder, making his screen debut. Mostel is Max Bialystock, a gone-to-seed Broadway producer who spends his days wheedling checks from his "investors," elderly women for whom Bialystock is only too willing to provide company.

Private Benjamin

Private Benjamin's immovable object is pampered Judy Benjamin, a wedding night widow. The irresistible force is a three-year, expense-paid hitch in the U.S. Army. What's Judy doing in combat boots and fatigues? A recruiter seductively describes today's "new Army" and gullible Judy takes the bait. Goldie Hawn is a private first class in her Oscar-nominated role of Judy, a fish-out-of-water coming of age via the rigors of basic training and a European assignment.

Pretty Woman

Academy Award nominee Julia Roberts (Notting Hill, Runaway Bride) and Richard Gere (Runaway Bride) light up the screen in this irresistible comedy! When successful corporate mogul Edward Lewis (Gere) meets carefree Vivian Ward (Roberts), their two lives are worlds apart. But Vivian's energetic spirit challenges Edward's no-nonsense approach to life, and soon they are teaching each other - and falling in love! This timeless rags-to-riches romance captures hearts with its humor, passion and unforgettable fun!

The Ref

Gus is a pretty clever cat burglar, but he's having a really bad Christmas Eve. He just stole precious gems from a wealthy amusement park owner. But his plan to escape has gone awry. So he ducks into Lloyd and Caroline's house only to find himself caught in the middle of a marriage from hell. Lloyd and Caroline are possibly the most dysfunctional pair in the world. To make matters worse, the unhappy twosome are expecting their in-laws for dinner.

Romancing The Stone

Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner have the adventure of their lives in this hugely successful romantic caper co-starring Danny DeVito. When her sister is kidnapped by thugs searching for a priceless jewel in the Colombian jungle, a romance novelist (Turner) soon finds her own life filled with cliffhangers and danger. All alone, she sets out to rescue her sister and meets up with a handsome fortune seeker (Douglas) who convinces her to beat the bandits to the treasure.

The Road To Wellville

Academy Award®-winner Anthony Hopkins leads an all star cast including Bridget Fonda, Matthew Broderick, John Cusack, and Dana Carvey in this inventive, high energy comedy filled with hilarious laughs and bawdy fun. Presiding over the renowned Battle Creek Sanitarium is the visionary corn flake inventor and health craze huckster Dr. John Harvey (Hopkins). Seeking to improve their health and their marriage in this spa/hospital/grand hotel are Eleanor (Fonda), Kellogg's spellbound devotee, and her reluctant but devoted husband Will (Broderick).

Risky Business

There's a time for playing it safe and a time for...Risky Business. Meet Joel Goodsen. Industrious, college-bound 17-year-old. Responsible, trustworthy son. But he's been good too long. Joel's parents are away and he's in charge of the house. They trust him. Maybe they shouldn't. "One of the best American comedies of recent years" (Roger Ebert), Risky Business slyly explores the teen dilemma of growing up good-hearted but guilt-ridden. In his starmaking role as Joel, Tom Cruise is a charmer with conscience that foreshadows Jerry McGuire.
