The Other Side
On The Other Side, Italian guitarist Mimmo Langella gets to show alternate sides of his craft - that of composer, arranger and soloist - as opposed to the session work he normally does in Italy. On the funky jazz/fusion album, you'll follow the succession of tunes, tied by a groove that never quits, all marked with a clever recreation of vintage tones revisited in the modern manner. You'll hear the improvised guitar played with relaxed fluency over the solid groove laid down by Langella's travelling companions, in pursuit of the spontaneous solution suggested by the feel, and the moment.
