Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde

Danish axeman Michael Sobygge's third solo release is entitled Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde and represents a continuation of his two previous recordings, "Melodic Meltdown" and "No Words Needed". The CD features both instrumental heavy rock inspired by old Blackmore and new Chastain (the Mr. Hyde), as well as melodic classical guitar tracks (the Dr. Jekyll). This time, Sobygge has included vocals (Lars Binderup sings on four tracks) and funky-bluesy stuff ("Blue Notes") which adds to the variety found on the recording. Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde is a diverse piece of work which shows Sobygge and his all-Danish line up (Lasse W. Wehner on bass and Martin Bech on drums) from many different musical angles. Check out Wehner's cool bass work on the extended improv track "Traffic Jam".
