Trip To Heaven
In the new millennium, Kevin Russell has returned to his first love, rock music, this time combining his roots and blues into a no-nonsense contemporary blues rock style, punctuated by his stellar guitar work and honey-like vocals. His CD, Trip To Heaven, is made up of all original songs written and co-produced by the guitarist. The range of material is exceptional, running from straight ahead blues rock, as in "Firing Line" and "Don't Say You Love Me", to hauntingly beautiful ballads like "All I Ever Wanted" and "Make Up Your Mind", plus a wonderfully executed instrumental track, "Reprise". All in all, Trip To Heaven is an excursion into the soul of an expert rock music craftsman.
