Four world-class musicians, each with their own flair for improvisation and spiritual passion - known collectively as Garaj Mahal - fuse their disparate musical styles and engaging passionate improvisation with an organic, groove saturated sound. Garaj Mahal is: Kai Eckhardt, one of the world's most innovative bass players best known for his work in the John Mclaughlin Trio, Fareed Haque, international Blue Note recording guitarist that effortlessly moves from classical to jazz styles, one of the most sought after musicians in the Bay Area, drummer Alan Hertz, and the Chicago area's premier keyboardist, Eric Levy. The second CD of their three volume live series, Live Vol. 2, was recorded live at the Boulevard Cafe in Chicago, Illinois on August 13, 2002.
