His Own New Works, a CD by guitarist and composer Frank Wallace, features major new works for solo classical guitar--always passionate, sometimes raucous, the tender moments making you weep. Laced with harmonic and rhythmic echoes of the Middle Ages and the blues, the album offers graceful musicmaking of a high order. The compositions reflect Wallace's distinguished career as a classical guitarist and versatile player of early guitars, vihuela de mano and lute.
