Synopsis
When the world turns gray, sometimes all it takes is a little music to bring the color back. George Dunning's animated "Yellow Submarine" begins in Pepperland, a joyful paradise under the sea where music and happiness reign - until the music-hating Blue Meanies launch a surprise attack, freezing its citizens and draining the land of color. Old Fred escapes in the yellow submarine and recruits John, Paul, George and Ringo in Liverpool. Armed with little more than wit, charm and their songs, the Fab Four set sail through a series of strange seas, picking up the lovable Nowhere Man along the way. With Heinz Edelmann's dazzling pop-art designs and classics like "All You Need Is Love" and "Eleanor Rigby," it's a psychedelic delight. The Beatles themselves appear in a live-action cameo at the end.
