Synopsis

Baby steps can carry a devoted patient right onto his therapist's doorstep. Frank Oz's "What About Bob?" pairs Bill Murray with Oscar winner Richard Dreyfuss in a wonderfully wacky comedy. Murray plays Bob Wiley, a sweet, lovable patient riddled with phobias who becomes utterly devoted to his new psychiatrist, the arrogant, self-important Dr. Leo Marvin (Dreyfuss), author of a bestselling self-help book called "Baby Steps." But when Leo leaves for a monthlong family vacation at his lakeside summer home in New Hampshire, Bob, terrified of being on his own, tracks him down and turns up uninvited. Soon Bob has become the houseguest who won't leave, charming Leo's wife (Julie Hagerty) and children (Charlie Korsmo and Kathryn Erbe) while slowly driving the high-strung doctor completely out of his mind.
