Synopsis
Every homeowner learns sooner or later that the dream always costs more than the estimate. H.C. Potter's "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House" stars Cary Grant as Jim Blandings, a Manhattan advertising man fed up with his cramped apartment. When his wife, Muriel (Myrna Loy), proposes redecorating, Jim counters with a bigger idea - moving to the Connecticut countryside. The ramshackle farmhouse they're talked into buying proves beyond saving, so they decide to build from scratch, and the bills start piling up faster than the walls go up. Meanwhile, Jim's job hangs on coming up with a catchy slogan for Wham brand ham. Anyone who's ever hired a contractor will feel his pain.
