Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018)

The people who shape us live on in the choices we make and the dreams we carry forward. Ol Parker's "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again," both sequel and prequel to the 2008 hit, returns to the Greek island of Kalokairi, where Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), expecting her first child, prepares to reopen her late mother's hotel. As she seeks advice from her three dads (Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgård) and her mother's best friends, Tanya (Christine Baranski) and Rosie (Julie Walters), flashbacks reveal how young Donna (Lily James) first arrived on the island in 1979, fresh out of Oxford and eager for adventure. Along the way, we see how she met and fell for the younger versions of Sam (Jeremy Irvine), Harry (Hugh Skinner) and Bill (Josh Dylan), and how she came to make a home on the island. Lily James is a joy, belting out ABBA classics like "When I Kissed the Teacher," "Waterloo" and "Mamma Mia," and Dominic Cooper returns as Sophie's husband, Sky. Cher makes a grand entrance as Sophie's glamorous grandmother, Ruby, and her duet of "Fernando" with Andy Garcia is a highlight. The movie is even more heartfelt than the original. With Cher, Meryl Streep and plenty of ABBA, you'll be singing along.
